Muhlenberg County Fiscal Court – Historic Courthouse Renovations

The Muhlenberg County Fiscal Court retained the services of RBS Design Group for the extensive renovation of the historic Muhlenberg County Courthouse, located in Greenville, KY. The 100+ year old courthouse was originally constructed in 1907, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

RBS Design Group completed a 5-phase interior and exterior renovation of this historic site.  One key feature of the project that was given special attention was the replication of the existing dome.  The dome was completely rebuilt, and includes new steel trusses, a new bell and clock system, and the original clock was restored to working order.  This structure boasts the largest open belfry of any pre-fabricated cupola in the nation, and is also recognized as the second largest clock/tower dome in the state of Kentucky.

Renovation to the historic site featured new sidewalks, landscaping, and retaining walls.  The interior of the facility also received extensive renovations and now meets the programming requirements of the Fiscal Court.
