Monroe County Schools,  Monroe County High School and Middle School, Renovations – 2018

 

The Monroe County Schools will receive sealed proposals at the offices of the Monroe County Board of Education for the furnishing of all materials, tools, equipment, labor and supervision required for the completion of “Monroe County Schools, Monroe County High School and Middle School, Renovations – 2018”.

Proposals will be received until, but no later than, 2:00 p.m., prevailing time, December 14, 2017, then opened and publicly read aloud.

A prebid conference will be held December 11, 2017, at 10:00 A.M., prevailing time, beginning at the Monroe County High School. All bidders should plan on attending this meeting.

A 5% Bid Security and 100% Performance and Payment Bond are required for this project.

The scoring of proposals is subject to Reciprocal preference for Kentucky resident bidders and preferences for a Qualified Bidder.

The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and/or waive any informalities in bids received where such acceptance, rejection, or waiver is considered to be in the best interest of the Owner.


“AUDUBON AREA COMMUNITY SERVICES, INC., AUDUBON AREA HEAD START, SEVEN HILLS REMODELING – 2018”

Project Description: Project includes remodeling of an existing school building.

The Work includes, but is not limited to, selective demolition, site clearing, earthwork, termite control, asphalt paving, plastic fencing and gates, lawns and grasses, cast-in-place concrete, unit masonry assemblies, metal fabrications, miscellaneous carpentry, interior architectural woodwork, plastic paneling, building insulation, exterior insulation and finish systems, firestopping, joint sealants, standard steel doors and frames, flush wood doors, access doors and frames, aluminum-framed entrances and storefronts, aluminum windows, door hardware, glazing, gypsum sheathing, gypsum board assemblies, ceramic tile, terrazzo repairs, acoustical panel ceilings, resilient wall base and accessories, carpet, painting, visual display boards, metal toilet compartments, impact-resistant wall protection, flagpoles, signs, post and panel signs, fire protection specialties, protective covers, toilet and bath accessories, floor mats and frames, foodservice equipment (hook-up and cutting and patching), HVAC and plumbing systems, electrical (power, communication, and lighting) systems, clean-up and removal of construction debris.

Owner will award a separate contract for furnishing and installation of food service equipment. Unless otherwise called for in Section 11400, final hook-up and cutting and patching shall be performed by the general contractor, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical contractors as part of this General Construction contract.

There are alternate bids indicated in the contract documents. Refer to Section 01230.

This project includes wage determinations in accordance with the Davis-Bacon Act. Refer to Section 00850.

The Owner holds a State of Kentucky Revenue Cabinet Purchase Exemption Certificate and desires to purchase all materials for this project. State sales tax is to be excluded in the cost of all materials.

Proposals will be received as a Lump Sum Bid for the work indicated in the Bidding Documents.

Proposals will be received until 2:00 P.M., prevailing time on January 9, 2018, at the offices of Audubon Area Community Services, 1700 W. 5th Street, Owensboro, Kentucky, and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud in Conference Room “C”.

A prebid conference will be held on December 19, 2017, at 10:00 a.m., prevailing time, at the site of the former Seven Hills Elementary School, 2401 McConnell Avenue, Owensboro, KY. All bidders should plan on attending this meeting.

Two sets of the Bidding Documents may be obtained by general contractors and one (1) set by mechanical (HVAC), plumbing, and electrical contractors from Maco-Evansville Blue, 600 Court Street, Evansville, Indiana 47708 (812/464-8108), upon deposit of Two Hundred Dollars for each set of Documents. Additional sets may be purchased at a cost of Two Hundred Dollars per set, non-
refundable. Check covering deposit shall be made payable to the order of Audubon Area Community Services. All mailing charges (non-refundable), if required, are to be arranged in advance with and paid directly to Maco-Evansville Blue with a separate check.

Electronic copies of the documents are available from Maco/Evansville Blue, 600 Court Street, Evansville, IN. (812/464-8108). Charges to obtain electronic copies are non-refundable and are to be arranged with, and paid directly to, Maco/Evansville Blue.

Subcontractors not listed above and material suppliers may purchase complete sets of Bid Documents at a cost of Two Hundred Dollars per set, non-refundable. Check covering the cost of plans shall be made payable to Audubon Area Community Services. Electronic copies are also available as detailed above.

Deposits will be refunded to contractors, who submit a bona fide proposal to the Owner and return the documents, in an acceptable and reusable condition, within ten days of the opening of the bids.

Partial sets of documents are not available.

Bid Guaranty in the form of a Bid Bond (Proposal bonds with Contractor acting as surety are not acceptable), Certified Check, or cash shall accompany each bid. The amount of the bid Guaranty shall be not less than five percent (5%) of the Bid set forth in the Proposal Form. All bid Guaranties shall be made payable to the Audubon Area Community Services.

No bids may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for a period of sixty (60) days therefrom.

The Owner reserves the right to determine the ability of any bidder to perform the work, and upon the request of the Owner, any bidder shall furnish such information as may be required to make this determination.

The successful bidder shall be required to furnish a performance and payment bond and a material and payment bond in an amount equal to at least One Hundred Percent (100%) of the Contract price. The premium for the bonds shall be included in the proposal amount(s).

The Owner reserves the right to accept any bid, to reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities in bids received where such acceptance, rejection or waiver is considered to be in the best interest of the Owner and to reject any bid where evidence of information submitted by the bidder does not satisfy the Owner that the Bidder is qualified to carry out the details of the Contract Documents.
